Fabric :
Choose a durable and appropriate fabric for upholstery, considering the sofa's style, usage, and your preferences.
Upholstery Foam or Padding :
Provides comfort and support for cushions and seating.
Used to secure the fabric.
1. Disassemble the Sofa :
Remove the existing fabric carefully, documenting or labeling parts to keep track of how they should be reassembled.
Inspect the frame for damages or repairs needed. Repair any broken or weak parts before proceeding.
2. Cut and Attach the Upholstery Fabric :
Measure and cut the new fabric, leaving extra allowance for wrapping around the sofa frame.
Start by attaching the fabric to the underside or back of the sofa using staples or tacks. Pull the fabric taut and secure it gradually.
3. Add Upholstery Padding:
Replace or add foam or padding to areas that need support or cushioning. Secure it in place before covering it with fabric.
4. Upholster the Seat and Back:
Work section by section, pulling the fabric snugly and evenly as you staple or tack it to the sofa frame.
For corners or curves, create pleats or folds for a smooth and neat finish.
5. Finish and Secure :
Trim any excess fabric and ensure the upholstery is smooth and tight.
