Fabric :
Choose a durable and suitable fabric for upholstery. Consider the chair's usage, style, and the existing décor.
Upholstery Webbing or Springs (if needed) :
Required for repairing or replacing chair support.
1. Prepare the Chair :
Remove the existing fabric, carefully detaching any staples or tacks holding it in place. Keep track of the order of removal to use as a reference
later.
Inspect the chair frame for any damages or repairs needed. Fix any broken or weak parts before proceeding.
2. Cut and Attach the Upholstery Fabric :
Measure and cut the new fabric, leaving enough allowance for wrapping around the chair.
Start by attaching the fabric to the underside or back of the chair using staples or tacks. Pull the fabric taut and secure it gradually.
3. Add Upholstery Padding:
If the chair requires additional padding or foam, cut and attach it before covering it with the fabric.
4. Upholster the Seat and Back:
Work methodically, pulling the fabric snugly and evenly as you staple or tack it to the chair frame.
For corners or curves, create pleats or folds to ensure a smooth and neat finish.
5. Finish and Secure :
Trim any excess fabric and ensure the upholstery is smooth and tight.
Secure all fabric edges with staples or tacks, making sure they're evenly distributed.
Reassemble the Chair :
Reattach any additional elements, such as cushions or armrests, that were removed during the upholstery process.
